baby its cold outside

I feel terrible for how long it has taken me to finish up these pictures for my sister. My baby girl and I have been sick most of this month. I finished editing these pictures last week and had good intentions to put them up on my blog. And we got sick, again. Thanks for being patient Mequelle and Reggie!

P.S. It was super, super cold for this shoot. We would get out of the car for 5 minutes, take pictures, and then jump right back into the car. We probably spent 15 minutes total on actually taking the pictures. Good thing they are extremely photogenic and don't need much time to get some good shots!

life & such

I often times feel like my photography is only as good as how many clients I get. Until I discovered a photographer named Becky Earl. Her work is some of my very favorite! She isn't currently in business, but continues to share pictures of her family. I'm sure once she goes back into business, she will have clients up the wazoo! 

What is success? Is it measured by how much money we make, how many clients we have, or even how busy we are? I finally came to my own conclusion of what success is. It's loving what you do, and learning to find balance in life. 

For a little while, I felt like photography was running my life and I couldn't manage to find balance. I typically wouldn't do more than one photo shoot a week, and I still felt too busy. In order for me to truly be there for my husband and baby girl 100% of the time, I need to say goodbye to having a photography business for now. I feel that right now I really need to focus on my family and my life and trying to find a better balance with everyday things. 

That being said, I'm not stopping with my passion for photography! I still plan to take pictures of my family and doing stuff occasionally for family and close friends. I'm also hoping to shoot lots and lots more film! Just be prepared to see a lot more pictures of my family, and a lot less of other families.

Anyway, enough of me rambling on...here are just a few things I'm working on:

My Sister's wedding pictures. Which have taken me way too long to get to. 

Project life! My goal is to actually complete all 52 weeks.

My baby's scrapbook...which I can never seem to catch up on.

kayla's bridals

Kayla has been a great friend of mine since we were in elementary school. I got to spend the day Saturday photographing her beautiful wedding day. I'm super excited for her and Chris. They make such a cute couple! Kayla was a beautiful bride, and I'm so excited that I can finally post her bridals!

Yes, I did change my design of my blog again. I keep going back and forth between bybee photography, and heather bybee photography. I finally think I figured out my preferred logo. This design will hopefully stay for a while! My problem is that I enjoy designing too much.

ONE FROM TONIGHT

I'm so lucky! I got to spend the evening with this lovely lady! I'm dying to post more pictures of her bridals...however, her man can't see her in her dress until the big day. So I'm posting one that doesn't show her face. I promise more pictures will follow after their wedding!

Sorry it took forever to post part two of Whitney and Ken's Formals. I have just been a busy bee. I have to do my editing when my baby is asleep. Sometimes that can be a very difficult task. But they are all done!! Woot Woot! I also finished editing up a maternity shoot. Check back tomorrow to see those.

 Here is part one of Ken and Whitney's formals! They are such a cute couple, it just makes me happy! My husband really didn't want to wear a black tux but I thought we had to be traditional and go with black. After seeing Ken's grey tux I wish I would have let my hubby choose. Whitney looks stunning in these pictures! I can't wait to see what their kids will look like. haha! We are so excited to have Ken part of the family!
