project life: 8 & 9

Here we go...project life week 8 and week 9. I am going to have to combine my week 10 and 11 since I am a little bit behind. I keep thinking I need to apologize about my terrible picture quality on many of my pictures that I use for my project life pages. After all, my website does say Heather Bybee Photography. Here is the deal, I don't always care about the quality of my pictures. I just care that I have the memory to hold onto. Whether it's your iphone, a point and shoot, a fancy dslr, or even your crapy "regular" phone camera...don't let everyday moments pass you by. These are the moments we are most likely to forget. Take pictures, and enjoy documenting your life!

P.S. I realize we have really ugly furniture and a can roller in our living room. They don't make for the prettiest pictures. But we are saving up for law school this fall and some things we just have to make do with.   Sorry if it's an eye sore.

I have an obsession with pink and gold lately. I'm pretty sure it's all thanks to pinterest. 

My project life week 7 was inspired by these pictures I found on pinterest. I love me some pink and gold!

boy oh boy!

Yep...we are having a baby boy! We couldn't feel more blessed. He is my perfectly good explanation for me slacking on blogging. I am due June 8th, so more than half way there. Yippee! This pregnancy has flown by for me. I'm not going to lie, when I was pregnant with my baby girl it felt like forever and a day. Sorry for the   crappy pictures, they were taken with my hubs phone. 

Something random to know about my hubs and I, is that we don't agree on names...period! It's really not even fun for us to talk about baby names, because we are on totally separate pages. Right now we aren't even entertaining any names. Anyone have any good ideas for boy names? Please tell!

I have decided to post my project life pages since I think it might help me actually stick with it. We somehow keep managing to get sick, so I had to play catch up this week. That is why weeks 4 and 5 are combined. I kinda had to do weeks 3, 4, 5, and start week 6 all this week. Yikes! But I'm all caught up, that's all that matters, right? Here there are...

life & such

I often times feel like my photography is only as good as how many clients I get. Until I discovered a photographer named Becky Earl. Her work is some of my very favorite! She isn't currently in business, but continues to share pictures of her family. I'm sure once she goes back into business, she will have clients up the wazoo! 

What is success? Is it measured by how much money we make, how many clients we have, or even how busy we are? I finally came to my own conclusion of what success is. It's loving what you do, and learning to find balance in life. 

For a little while, I felt like photography was running my life and I couldn't manage to find balance. I typically wouldn't do more than one photo shoot a week, and I still felt too busy. In order for me to truly be there for my husband and baby girl 100% of the time, I need to say goodbye to having a photography business for now. I feel that right now I really need to focus on my family and my life and trying to find a better balance with everyday things. 

That being said, I'm not stopping with my passion for photography! I still plan to take pictures of my family and doing stuff occasionally for family and close friends. I'm also hoping to shoot lots and lots more film! Just be prepared to see a lot more pictures of my family, and a lot less of other families.

Anyway, enough of me rambling on...here are just a few things I'm working on:

My Sister's wedding pictures. Which have taken me way too long to get to. 

Project life! My goal is to actually complete all 52 weeks.

My baby's scrapbook...which I can never seem to catch up on.

WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO

Scrapbooking, scrapbooking scrapbooking! I love it! I have been really good at keeping up with my baby's scrapbook, but our family one is lacking. On pinterest I have been seeing lots "project life" scrapbook pages. Basically you do one layout a week that displays what you did that week. I love the idea and decided to start it with our family scrapbook. Technically you are supposed to start at the beginning of the year, and I just started mine for last week. Better late than never, right? Here is the spread I just finished for last week.

What I love most about this layout is when I look at it I remember everything we did that week. Perfect journal for me!

Here are a few random pages I have also just finished. I'm not very original with my layouts. Also, if you were wondering, I get most of my digital scrapbooking stuff from design house digital...I'm a big fan of that website!

IT'S BEEN A WHILE

It's been a while since I last posted some digital scrapbook pages. I love to look on pinterest at scrapbook page layouts to get ideas. My favorite thing to do while scrapbooking is listening to oldies! 

I am terrible at writing in my journal. I pretty much only write in it when something important happens. I like to think of my scrapbooks as journals. My pictures and scrapbook pages have a lot of sentimental value to me.
