I have more pictures coming of my baby girl shot on film. She is turning one. I'm not quite sure how I feel about her turning one. Bittersweet is what comes to mind. The first picture is a peek of her one year pictures! 

kayla + chris

I must regretfully say that I won't be photographing weddings any more. I had a blast at Kayla and Chris's wedding, and I love everything about weddings! That being said, weddings are very time consuming, which is very difficult when my number one priority is my family. Maybe someday I will venture back into photographing weddings. For now, enjoy Chris and Kayla's beautiful wedding! I'm so happy they let me be a part of their big day. Congrats you two!

yummy light

Last night my beautiful sister-in-law and I went out and did a shoot for fun! The light was so perfect and yummy. Yesterday felt like a turning point for me. It takes a long time to feel confident in all the technical skills that photography involves. Finally, I didn't have to think about and feel totally consumed with working my camera. It just came naturally. I was able to really pay attention to the lighting and be more creative. Finding yummy light = one happy photographer!

we went to the zoo

We just celebrated our 3 year anniversary at the beginning of the month. Both my husband and I thought it would be a blast to take our baby to the zoo to celebrate. I thought she would be so excited to see all the animals. As it turns out, she was much more interested in all the kids running around, and the occasional fly that would pass by. The best part for her was playing with the zoo's map. Go figure. 

perfectly imperfect

I don't know what it is about these pictures, but I just love them. Perhaps it's the subject matter!? I really love how perfectly imperfect these pictures are. Milk running down her face, chunks of food around her mouth, crying one minute and happy the next. This is us, unedited. We aren't always happy, we aren't always dressed (well I'm always dressed, just usually in sweats), we aren't always clean, and we are always hungry! These are my favorite pictures, the "real" ones. The moments I want to remember always.
