nailed it

My sister recently came up to my place to do newborn picture for their baby. Oh he is so stinkin cute! My sister saw this picture of a baby in a Tonka truck on pinterest and feel in love with it. We totally had a "nailed it" moment. Don't know what I'm talking about? Let me show you...

Let me just be totally honest...I stink at doing photo shoots with props. Glad that's off my chest! We tried putting the baby in the Tonka truck, like the picture, either the baby was really small or the Tonka truck was really big. We decided to just lay the baby by the trucks instead. It was quite an adventure!

How a 2 year old holds his baby brother!

I will hopefully get my baby's newborn's up soon. I am also hoping to take a few family pictures at our home soon. Life is just a little crazy right now!

photo bomb

While taking newborn pictures yesterday, someone wanted to get in every shot. She is quite possibly the cutest photo bomber ever!

letters to my son

My sweet baby boy,

I can hardly believe you are finally here, wrapped snug in my arms, so quiet and peaceful. Although you have only been here for a short amount of time, you have stolen my heart completely. You are mine, and I now have two beautiful babies to love with all my might.

Your arrival was heavily anticipated. The day was finally here. We arrived at the hospital at 7 am to be induced. Everything seemed to be going well and exactly as planned, for a while at least. Your heart rate suddenly started to slow. With every contraction your heart rate would go down. I began to panic; I didn't understand what was happening. Everything from that point on seemed to happen so fast. I pushed for a contraction and a half and that was it. You were here with the umbilical cord wrapped tight around your neck. I waited for a cry. Cry baby, please cry. The cry didn't come, and suddenly a team of nurses rushed into the delivery room. I looked around the room for someone to tell me everything was going to be alright. All eyes were on you. I couldn't see you from the bed. All I wanted to know was if my sweet baby boy was okay.

After what felt like an eternity, I got to hold you, and watch you as you struggled with each breath. You were only in my arms for about a minute before they had to take you to the nursery. I waited 3 long hours before I got to hold you again. Your arms were covered in needle marks from the nurses trying to start an IV. But you were okay, and we were all going to be okay. You are our little fighter and my little hero! There is no doubt in my mind that Heavenly Father was watching over you and our little family. You are so loved and will always be!

Love always,
Mama

Thanks to my little sister for helping me out with pictures! She did an awesome job!

the lion sleeps

Someone stole my baby girl. I didn't realize how hard having a new baby would be on her. She has turned into a little terror! She seems to want something whenever I'm in the middle of feeding the baby. The other day, if you were to walk into my house, you would want to turn around and leave. In a matter of minutes she threw all her toys on the floor, dumped out a box of cereal, poured her half eaten bowl of cereal on the couch, dumped out my water bottle, and smeared yogurt all of the coffee table, all while feeding the baby. She is now sleeping, and I can now go clean the house...for her to mess up again!

My little guy's birth story will be up on the blog tomorrow.
Coming soon... lots of newborn pictures up and some family pictures!

our last

Today feels a little bitter sweet for me. I will be induced tomorrow morning. We can't wait to meet our little guy! However, it's our last day together...just me and my baby girl. It feels a little strange knowing that tomorrow everything will change. I hope and pray I can always give this little girl all the love and affection she deserves. I love her with my whole heart! She will forever be my little baby.

I have decided to start a little project for myself. I am rarely in pictures. Why? Well obviously I'm usually behind the camera, and that's where I'm most comfortable. I love photography simply because I want to capture my children. I want to capture their lives, their personalities, and the love we have for each other. It's hard for me to capture how much I love my family if I am absent from all of their pictures. So I am calling my project "I was there too". My goal is to take at least one picture a week with me in it. Time to whip out the tripod! Look for these posts every Tuesday!

memorial weekend

After a long week of cleaning and moving, we decided to head up to my in-laws for memorial weekend. Boy was it needed. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to move before I had the baby. It sounded easier to move being pregnant instead of with a newborn. I'm not sure what it is like to move with a newborn, but being 38 weeks pregnant and moving is pretty miserable. I would not suggest it.

I thought it might send me into labor. But here I am, blogging away, wishing I didn't have to feel like an elephant anymore.

Anyway, here is our weekend in pictures
